The Heir Hunters Association Help, Advice, Information and Support Intestate Estate Beneficiary Tracing |
|
Maurice Clarke the founder of the Heir Hunters Association is pleased to provide articles, comments and reports on the HHA's work across the world.
Maurice S Clarke - personal profile
"Being an only child family has become important to me, I have been blessed with a loyal and loving wife, 4 great kids and 3 grandchildren all of whom I am immensely proud. Much of my career has been working for voluntary and charitable organisations, many with a health bias. As such I am an administrator and manager, and have a keen interest in the power of the internet which has made significant progress in recent years.
I am keen that the Heir Hunters Association which I helped found will prove to be a formidable source of knowledge for aspiring Heir Hunters and beneficiaries to estates which, potentially they were not aware they have inherited from."

Maurice was born at Daventry, Northamptonshire in 1942 and until 1972 was a farmer in that area, being the only child of a former Leicestershire farmer with whom he was in partnership with until his death in 1967. During this period he had been active in the Young Farmers Club movement serving on many committees. From then until 1980 he was founding director of Red Rovers Motorists Association a 10,000 membership 24hr nationwide vehicle breakdown service which he later sold to a close competitor. From 1980-2002 he worked for a variety of companies on short term assignments for finance agencies in the field of electronic accounting as he had gained wide interest in the use of computers. Companies included Massey Ferguson, PowerGen, Same Lamborghini, DSL Consultants and Marconi. Married to Mary who suffers from Fibromyalgia he created and still maintains www.fibromyalgia-support.net and in 2007 set up with Mary a Rugby based support group for local sufferers attracting members from Leicestershire and Northamptonshire as well as their home county of Warwickshire. In 2009 he led the start of "Fibrolads" a support group for men who act (in their capacity of husband or partner) as carer for Fibromyalgia sufferers of which over 95% are female. |
Maurice has had a considerable interest in Genealogy tracing principally his wife Mary's family (Colby) and has a wide range of contacts around the world via his Colby Connections program.
In 2002 he inherited a substantial sum from an (unknown) relative whose estate was distributed under the terms of intestacy. The ensuing maternal and paternal family trees became an interesting revelation and at this point Maurice's interest started which lead eventually to the formation of the HHA several years later.
Maurice is an avid writer and an expert author for ezine articles.com on a variety of subject areas. For many years he has been involved in the development of over 20 web sites covering a variety of subjects.
Holi-Swaps com was the most successful which dealt with home swapping on a worldwide basis. He sold this to a USA travel firm in 2004.
He successfully created and ran the voluntary support service The Prostate Health Association on a national basis, eventually merging it with another similar organisation.
Maurice has been married to his wife Mary for over 35 years, they have 4 children, Jennifer, Michael, Peter and Mark and have 3 grandchildren, Christopher, Liam and Eliza. Maurice is especially proud of this family photo taken in the 1990's

Following intensive research Maurice established the Heir Hunters Association in August 2009, with an aim of raising awareness of the work of Heir Hunters on an international basis.
With extensive PR experience gained and honed over the years he plans to raise the national and worldwide profile of the HHA and it's aims over the next decade.
Working with a variety of legal, genealogical and accountancy contacts the various members pages where created on the web site which Maurice personally created and still maintains.
A public online forum was set up designed to stimulate Heir Hunting knowledge and development, moderated by Maurice and others.
A public newsletter was established and edited by Maurice to which anyone can subscribe. Previous newsletters are maintained online here
Maurice's other interests include computers and the internet, driving, Yoga (which he has practiced for over 30 years and used to teach) and Electronic Keyboard Playing (which he used to teach and was partner in a music shop)
Maurice and Mary currently live in Rugby but remain close links with Norfolk where they hope to "retire" one day having lived there for several years and having spent many enjoyable holidays on the north and east coasts.
Maurice has written various articles on the general subject of Heir Hunting and is both the source and inspiration behind the HHA's aims.
