Researching for the HHA

We regularly receive enquiries from professionals and the general public about tracing various people, unlikely the speculative "Heir Hunting" work on a commission basis if/when you find beneficiaries to an intestate's estate, this private commissioned work pays by the day or assignment.

Sometimes we get leads to unclaimed estates which we can follow up on and solve a dormant case with the direct information we are given from a beneficiary or a close member of their family. This type of work has zero competition, as a consequence can usually be solved quickly (in a few weeks) with an attractive commission of 10-20% of the estate value.

Sometimes clients pay bonuses, bounties or finders fees on top of the daily rate, this stimulates researchers and gives them an added incentive to complete an assignment quickly and trace the clients objective person.

Often work needs to get shared out by the principal researcher to the assignment between another or several researchers and this is a further benefit of HHA Membership.

Accredited researchers may live and work anywhere in the world, but tend to specifically research in their own country, region, state or local area.

Or you may be passed the entire case as a lead, if this occurs no introduction fees are payable by you, but we do expect you will deal with the case quickly and professionally. We like to be kept informed of progress and gestures of appreciation are welcomed to encourage us to pass you more work, as and when the opportunity arises.

The entire "spirit" of the HHA is about sharing so members who continue to "take" without reciprocating in the form of shared assignments or financial rewards may find themselves being limited with the work passed to them from the HHA.

Currently the majority of work is based within the UK, but there is also interest from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Europe and the US. Many Asian countries are also showing an interest and we hope to develop into this significant area in 2010 and beyond.

If you are an existing Member you can apply to be a researcher for us. There is no guarantee as to levels of work, or indeed any work, and the rates may vary so it is down to you to tell us about your experience, qualifications as well as normal personal details and full contact details and charging rates.

A home/office and mobile phone and fax (or online/email Fax Service) is needed as well as full broadband internet access and the usual software (Word, Excel, Acrobat Reader etc). Your own car is vital as you may need to travel to follow up enquires or obtain documents and certificates.
