Asia is the world's largest and most populous continent. It covers 8.6% of  the earth's total surface area (or 29.9% of its land area) and, with approximately 4 billion people, it hosts 60% of the world's current human population. It is located in the eastern and northern hemispheres.

The transfer of a persons estate when they die is subject to a mirade of local laws, traditions, religions and the appropriate state laws within each country.

In Arab Countries for example according to an arabian business com article over 90% of businesses are family owned and their owners are often reluctant to pass on their business to family. Indeed many large business fail to survive past a third generation.

Some countries or regions remain underdeveloped so as a consequence many people live their entire lives within a small village or town, as does their descendents. This means that when a person dies it is easy to identify the persons who will inherit goods or property left by the deceased person.

Many countries within Asia are highly developed technically, socially and financially and thus the wealth of the country and many individuals has grown, so more is at stake in the terms of inheritances.

The making of wills or testaments becomes more necessary and desirable, more so as a developed countries population also becomes more mobile, travelling to other regions of their own country to live, work or establish businesses.

More and more move to other countries not only within Asia but across the world attracted by money and personal and business opportunities.

As economy continue to thrive and expand so does the risk of people dying intestate and their heirs not being easily found.

Unclaimed monies may be taking into Trust and managed by state government bodies, until such times as beneficiaries can be found.

Asian genealogical firms and probate researchers based in large towns and cities exist and co-operate with similar organisations across the world and can provide useful contacts, but remain few and far between. Their services are typically fee based, although a few work on a contingency fee basis where their costs are met from a beneficiary's entitlement rather than the estate as a whole.

Beneficiaries of Asia estates tend to be based in Asia but may also be found in the USA, the United Kingdom and Eastern Europe.
