Heir Hunters on TV worldwide

Heir Hunting until a few years ago was something of a secret profession, and indeed the word "Heir Hunter" is itself new, but now is generally accepted to mean a person or firm who tracks down missing beneficiaries to intestate estates. Often Heir Hunters are also known as Probate Detectives.

Heir Hunters as a UK TV program is produced by Flame TV for the BBC for a UK audience and has run 5. We have no connection with either of these for more details see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heir_Hunters

These programs were shown in 2009-2011 on Australian and New Zealand TV which has grown interest in those countries.

Various TV stations run Heir Hunting news stories from time to time.

Many useful videos have been posted in YouTube, shown here for you convenience. You can find others using the keywords "Heir Hunters" on www.youtube.com

On RootsTelevision.com, Carol Whitton talks with Tracing Your Roots hosts Arline Sachs and Sallyann Sack about how to decipher the old-timey handwriting that makes family records at once so maddening and intriguing. It may take a moment for the sound to come through, but Tracing Your Family Roots: Old English and German Handwriting, produced by Sidney Sachs, is worth the wait!

You'll also want to check out Kip's Tips for decoding old handwriting, shared by Professor Kip Sperry, author and Professor of Family History.

Another helping hand comes from Master Graphoanalyst Irene Lambert, who shares with Dick Eastman how she can analyze handwriting to learn more about her ancestors' personalities.
